NLMK says to invest 4.4 bln rbl in upgrade of heating furnace
MOSCOW, Apr 3 (PRIME) -- Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has started construction of a 4.4 billion ruble upgraded heating furnace in a hot-rolled metal production facility in the city of Lipetsk to raise hot-rolled metals output by 110,000 tonnes a year, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
The new furnace’s capacity stands at 2.25 million tonnes a year. It will improve the quality of production, cut power consumption by 50%, and reduce atmospheric emissions. NLMK plans to finish construction in September and to launch the furnace in October.
